The Gidleigh Park Estate Team takes immense pride in their Kitchen Garden, while Executive Chef, Chris Eden, champions the use of all its produce.
Your day commences at 10.00am with a welcome coffee before embarking on a guided tour of the Kitchen Garden. The grounds at Gidleigh Park are host to resident honeybees, producing honey for hotel guests from the plentiful Dartmoor flowers. Join our local beekeepers to learn more, visit the hives in our grounds and savour an outstanding three-course lunch accompanied with a glass of wine.
Arrive from 10am for morning coffee followed by an insightful talk about bees, honey, and how to protect the ever-shrinking biodiversity that bees and other pollinating insects depend upon. Then head out in full beekeeping equipment to visit the hives before returning to a delicious three-course lunch with a glass of wine.

Join local guide and expert, Emma Cunis of Dartmoor's Daughter, for a photographic journey through some of the ancient tracks on Dartmoor used by farmers, tinners, monks, merchants, peat cutters, sailors, and those no longer with it... Based on a 1986 book of the same name by her grandfather Eric Hemery, Emma will share some of the history and mystery of these beautiful old ways.
Arrive from 12.30pm for tea and coffee, before a 1pm talk, with a delicious afternoon tea to finish.
Enter into the world of fungi with Dartmoor’s Daughter, Emma Cunis and Dr Christian Taylor, Mycologist. Arrive to tea & coffee in the drawing room then walk through the woods learning how to identify edible and other fungi and find out all about this marvellous kingdom of nature. Return to the restaurant for a three-course lunch with a glass of wine, followed by coffee & petit fours.
Throughout the year, Dartmoor and its National Park boast stunning beauty, yet the spectacle escalates during seasonal transitions, rendering the hotel grounds and surrounding moorlands absolutely breathtaking.
