The team have been recognised for their hard work, dedication and passion for the industry, the hotel had a superb year receiving prestigious awards and accolades throughout 2011.

Gidleigh Park was voted Number Three in the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants published in association with The Sunday Times Food Lists and Harden’s restaurant guide. The hotel was also delighted to be named Number One for ‘Best Front of House Team’, ‘Best Wine List’, Number One in South West,  Number Two ‘Best Place to Stay’ as well as Rémy Martin X.O. Excellence Award for ‘Best All Round Restaurant’.

Says Michael Caines, “We're ecstatic. Thank you to all the Harden's and Sunday Times readers who rated us so highly. Gidleigh Park has been my pride and joy ever since I was appointed chef in 1994. We've gone on to hold two Michelin stars for almost 13 years and my team has never taken its eye off the ball; these awards mean a great deal to us and we feel like Christmas has come early! Special mentions must go to owners, Andrew and Christina Brownsword, general manager Andrew Foulkes, restaurant manager Damien Bastiat and head sommelier Edouard Oger MS, who have helped to keep our standards so high in a warm and homely environment.”

Gidleigh Park is a beacon of quality in the South West and our excellence has been recognised in a number of prestigious awards. In 2011, we regained our two Michelin stars for the twelfth year in a row, recognising the talent and creativity of executive head chef Michael Caines MBE and his team.
