Dartmoor is a natural playground for children and offers a vast array of activities to occupy the most energetic and inquisitive amongst your offspring.

There are countless nature trails and cycle paths for families to follow and see the beauty and wildlife of Dartmoor at first hand. The area’s woodland and waterfalls are magical, particularly Lydford Gorge, in north Dartmoor, with its 90-foot White Lady Waterfall, whirlpools and Devil’s Cauldron.

Whether your children love to take risks with extreme sports, want to get to grips with sailing, love the thought of walking in the footsteps of Dinosaurs or are just happy to explore the delightful beaches and quaint towns as a family, Dartmoor is an idyllic location for a family break.

Okehampton Castle – The ruins of the largest castle in Devon are waiting to be explored and offer enchanted walks.

Dartmoor Miniature Pony Centre – Over 150 animals to visit including ponies and donkeys, many other activities are offered.

The House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey – fun and games for children of all ages.

South Devon Steam Railway -  A heritage steam railway line running alongside the river Dart, join at Buckfastleigh, Totnes or Staverton.

National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth.
